The Thai military has violated Cambodia’s sovereignty by penetrating up to 70 kilometers deep into Cambodian territory, using F-16 fighter jets to drop two bombs on the area around O’Chik Bridge on the border in Srei Snam district, and two more bombs near a refugee camp within the territory of Srei Snam district, Siem Reap province.
According to the Ministry of National Defense, at 10:08 a.m., the Thai military used an F-16 fighter jet to drop one bomb in the area of O’Chik Bridge, located along the border line in Srei Snam district, Siem Reap province. Three minutes later, the F-16 dropped an additional bomb in the same area.
Meanwhile, at 10 a.m. today, the Thai military also expanded the battlefield, launching fierce attacks by using F-16 fighter jets to drop two bombs near a refugee camp in the territory of Srei Snam district, Siem Reap province. These F-16 attacks near the refugee camp have forced a number of evacuated civilians who were staying at the camps in Wat Kok Krol and Wat Chroy Neang Ngoun in Chong Kal district, Oddar Meanchey province, to evacuate further into the territories of Kralanh district and Puok district, Siem Reap province.
In a press conference this morning, Ms. Mali Socheata also noted that the number of F-16 aircraft and the use of cluster bombs by the Thai military in attacks on Cambodia have been gradually increasing.
It should also be noted that the brutal attacks by the Thai military on Cambodia have now lasted for 9 days, as of December 15. The number of civilians killed in the attacks due to Thailand’s armed aggression has risen to 12, with 74 injured, while the number of displaced people has increased to more than 400,000.
